Proposal to reduce minPoolCost parameter from 340 to 170 ADA submitted on mainnet

10/23/2023 Cardano Foundation announced that it successfully submitted a transaction on the Cardano mainnet that lowered the minPoolCost parameter from 340 to 170 ADA Accordingly, starting with Epoch 445 (scheduled for 10/28/2023), the minimum setting value for the minPoolCost (minimum pool fixed cost) parameter can be reduced from 340 to 170 by each pool's policy/decision.

AKYO Pool Policy

AKYO Pool lowers the minPoolCost parameter from 340 to 170 ADA and sets Margin to 3%.

Reason

Since this is a very small pool, the minPoolCost (minimum pool fixed cost) will be lowered in order to be competitive. The current minimum minPoolCost (minimum pool fixed cost) of 340 ADA is not an option for delegation because many delegators tend to avoid pools less than 10M and delegate to pools above 10M. (Current total delegation for AKYO pool on 10/26/2023 = 1.84m ADA) Therefore, we decided to make this policy in order to have our representatives choose to delegate to our pool, even if it means cutting the operator's compensation. Regarding margins, we believe there is a concern that low-cost competition will be created, and we are operating nodes on high-quality servers. As for our track record, next March will mark the third anniversary of the pool's establishment. We are proud that we have supported many SPOs in Japan. With this in mind, we have set Margin at 3%.
