- Select "Wallet Settings," then select "+ Add Wallet."
- Enter your passcode.
- Review the notice, then select "Got It."
- Select "Import Wallet."
- Review the notice, then select "I Understand."
- Set a passcode for this wallet account.
- Set a wallet name.
- Select "Single Secret Phrase," then select "24 Words."
- Enter your recovery phrase to restore the wallet.
Using the Restored Wallet with Cardano
After restoring the wallet on Keystone, connect it to a Cardano wallet to use it.
When connecting to a Cardano wallet, you can select the Cardano address derivation method on your Keystone device.
- Cardano Native: Commonly used with Eternl, Lace, Daedalus, and other wallets
- Ledger/BitBox02: Used with Ledger and BitBox02
If you restored a wallet from another hardware wallet, pay attention to the address derivation method used by the original hardware wallet.
Even when using the same recovery phrase, a different address derivation method may generate a different Cardano address from the one used by the original wallet.
Using Cardano Native
When connecting Keystone to a Cardano wallet, "Cardano Native" is selected by default.
If you use the Cardano Native address derivation method, continue connecting to the Cardano wallet with "Cardano Native" selected.
When Using a Ledger / BitBox02 Recovery Phrase
If you restored a Ledger or BitBox02 recovery phrase on Keystone, change the address derivation method on your Keystone device to "Ledger/BitBox02" when connecting to a Cardano wallet after restoring the wallet.
-
In your Cardano wallet, select "Keystone" and display the QR code for connecting.
-
Scan the QR code with your Keystone device.
-
Select "…" in the upper-right corner of the connection screen on your Keystone device.
-
Select "Change Derivation Path."
-
Select "Ledger/BitBox02" as the Cardano address derivation method.
-
Continue connecting to the Cardano wallet.
-
After connecting, verify that the address displayed in the Cardano wallet matches the address of the original Ledger or BitBox02 wallet.
"Cardano Native" and "Ledger/BitBox02" may generate different Cardano addresses even when using the same recovery phrase.
When migrating from another hardware wallet, be sure to verify that the Cardano address displayed after connecting to the Cardano wallet matches the address of the original wallet.
